Difference Between Normally Closed and Normally Open
General daily use of solenoid valves are divided into two major types of normally closed and normally open, normally closed solenoid valve means that the coil is not energized when the gas path is broken. Normally open type solenoid valve means that the coil is not energized when the gas path is open. Normally closed solenoid valve action principle: energize the coil, the gas path is connected, once the coil is de-energized, the gas path will be disconnected, which is equivalent to the point of action. Normally open type solenoid valve action principle: energize the coil, the gas path is open, once the coil is de-energized, the gas path will be open, which is also point action.
How to Choose According to Different Job Requirements
- When the solenoid valve needs to be closed for a long period of time, and the time of closing is more than the time of opening should be selected normally closed type.
- When the solenoid valve needs to be open for a long time, and the time of opening is more than the time of closing should be selected normally open type.
- When you need to open for a long time and close for a long time at the same time, you should choose self-holding solenoid valves, also called normally open and normally closed solenoid valves.
- However, some of the conditions used for safety protection, such as furnace, kiln flame detection, can not be selected normally open, should be selected for long-term energized type.
Installation Instructions
- Keep the solenoid tube diameter mounted horizontally and the coil mounted vertically.
- Outlet piping with backflow requires a check valve.
- The medium must be clean and non-corrosive (water, compressed air can be passed through).
